Um, yikes - what kind of snake is that?

A Northern Water Snake. It was about 2 1/2 feet long, but we have seen one in the pond that was about 4 feet.

can you just reassure me that you used a zoom lense???yuck!!
i did NOT use my zoom lens! i had forgotten it, and really wished i had it, the picture quality would have been way better!
